·           Firstly, In Microsoft Word whenever you type something then word count habitually starts the words counting until the written page gets ended. Even, word count shows the total no. of words to the users as it is present in the customize status bar which is in the below of the page.
·         Even, you can count total no. of words from the particular paragraph which you have written   in your document. All you need to do is select that paragraph from your document workspace then you will see the word count like 70/258 which means you have written 70 words in your paragraph out of your whole document which is of total 250 words.
·         Sometimes word count doesn’t work properly due to any reason maybe you are using outdated Microsoft office. At that time, you must go to customize quick access toolbar which is positioned above of your document, then click on ‘Review’ option to see the ‘Word Count’option in the ‘Review’section, tap on it to use.
